how to make fuel from solid waste?

27 Sep Posted by in Recycle | 2 comments

Question by AwesomeGuy: how to make fuel from solid waste?
I am working on a project about recycling solid wastes to produce fuel, but I need more information on this process. I am looking for answers to these questions:

How efficient is this process and what is the scientific explanation?
Are there factories which recycle solid wastes to make fuel?
Which types of solid waste can be turned into fuel?
Is this fuel more environment friendly (less toxic emissions) than other solid fuels such as coal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sinless says:

how much fuel and energy are you going to use to do all this various recycling?

  • Michael C says:

Pretty much anything that will burn has heat content. You can take that heat and convert it to steam, then pass the steam through a turbine to make electricity.

You can use any type of solid waste that will burn for fuel.

If it’s environmentally friendly or not depends entirely on what you burn.
