I don’t have a problem with laundry. I have a washer and dryer in a cabinet on my porch. I place dirty clothes in the hamper in my bedroom closet and I put my clean clothes away.

Food preparation is also a non-issue to me. I don’t have much counter space, but as long as I clean up after doing things and move dirty things to the sink so there’s space, I have no problems.

The biggest problem would be storage, which is why we had to get a 2 bedroom apartment. We have too much stuff…camping equipment, fishing poles, bikes, etc to have just a one bedroom. The second bedroom is a guest room as well as storage, so we have a bureau for guests to use and we keep everything in the closets.

We also have to rent a garage because we had too much stuff when we moved in (our other apartment was a LOT bigger). So everything is kept in the garage and then we’re slowly getting rid of our extra stuff….extra furniture, equipment and things.

Storage. Only keep what you need, make use of vertical space and be creative.

Storage- actually, most importantly, the lack of it. My kitchen has only 2 very narrow drawers, which don’t accommodate even a standard utensil tray. Also, the cabinets tend to be higher than I am accustomed to, so reaching items is difficult. I purchased a two tiered microwave cart which allows me to store canned goods, and also a three draw plastic “utility cart” where I put kitchen gadgets, pot holders and other items that would normally go in the drawers my kitchen does not have.
