Question by snapple: How should i start my persuasive letter about recycling?
i need to like..engage the audience in my class. i need to make it something to like spark the audience’s emotions, as my teacher says. it should stand out. i also don’t know what my reasons should be about why people should support recycling. please help me? thanks!

Did you know that it takes 95% less energy to recycle aluminum than create it from raw materials? And that the energy saved from recycling one ton of aluminum is equal to the amount of electricity used by an average home over 10 years or could fuel a car that gets 35 miles per gallon for 82,250 miles.

You could start by dumping a pile of (CLEAN) trash, in particular recycleable trash, on a table. Or asking if your audience ate XYZ for breakfast this morning. Anything from Poptarts to Toaster Strudel to cereal. Then ask what they did with the empty box, did they throw it in the trash?
Explain that the boxes (and milk container) are recycleable. Then explain that if more people recycled, this (your trash) wouldn’t be filling up the landfill.
There are plenty of reasons to recycle, including the reason above. Do a little research and you’ll find plenty to write about.
