Question by Nikki7012: Where can I take my newspapers for recycling in Silver Spring or DC?
I live in an apartment building that does have recycling but only for aluminum cans, glass containers and bottles, etc. The bin near the dumpsters does not take newspapers for recycling. I have a huge stack of newspapers from delivery service that I finally cancelled. Does anyone know where I can take the old newspapers for recycling? There are so many of them I just don’t wanna just throw them away!

Try calling the company that picks up your garbage and asking them what they recommend. Other than that, maybe you could put up ads on free bulletin boards, offering to donate them to gardeners, who can use them for mulch, or to arts and crafts groups who can use them to make paper mache, etc.
