American Food Waste Also Wastes Millions in Energy
WASHINGTON, DC — Americans waste a lot of food — 27 percent of all food produced wasn’t eaten back in 1995, the last time a study was conducted by the USDA. That number has no doubt gone up in the last 15 years, and two researchers at the University of Texas at Austin have published a paper looking at the wasted, embedded energy of all that food.

Student News: Award for Olsen, grant for Wallant
Elizabeth N. Olsen of Ridgefield was recognized in May as the Holland Scholar for the class of 2011 at Trinity College in Hartford. This recognition is achieved by recording the highest cumulative grade point average in the student’s respective class over the course of an academic year.
