Check with your cities website to see if they have recycling available. We have a drop off location. I wish we had curbside recycling.

What do you think? Answer below!

    Hi ant,
start a recycling business is not so easy. Anyway I hope you will find useful suggestion within lines I’m going to drop.

What do you need to know:

1- Law in your country about the work you’re going to do. Licenses, money guaranties requested ..
    2- Which is your target
3- Which kind of waste produce
4- How many waste – weight/year – you can collect in your territory.

This is the base. You need to know the problems and how big the business could be.

If you decided to start you have to know that WEEE (waste electrical and electronic waste) is quite different from packaging (plastic bottle, bags, paper and cardboard..). For each different kind of waste there are a lot of things to know.

So you have to decide if you want to collect or you want to recycle.

If you want to recycle waste – transform waste to second material – you have to choice the waste. because for WEEE you need some machinery, for plastic others..

If you want to collect waste you can do with different kind of waste. Why collect? Recyclers usually need big stock of material, they cannot collect wastes “door by door”. So they need companies that collect waste, organize them, reduce volume and prepare stock of homogeneous wastes.

So you have to decide what you want to do. My suggestion is follow your passion but don’t lost your mind. I start my business few years ago and it was just a dream. Now I’m happy to follow it.
