Imagine that your city is planning to build a waste recycling plan your neighborhood> What are the ethical and practical considerations for making this decision? How would your concern for the environment affect your view on this action? would you oppose this action? why or why not?

I personally would oppose it, because most of the ones I’ve seen stink REALLY bad! Especially on hot days, and during temperature inversions. It probably will also lower your property value, so you have a reason and a right to be upset. Sure… it has to go somewhere… but I’d make sure I understood EXACTLY why it had to be my neighborhood. This is usually a situation where the ‘least squeaky wheel’ gets the sewage plant. So I’d rally the neighbors, write down a bunch of questions, and get as many people as possible to email them to your City Hall. Then you all should have a face to face sit-down with with your city council person and demand some very detailed answers!

It has just occurred to me that you probably are in Canada. If so, your municipal structure is probably different. So I think you should follow whatever protocol is in place, and voice your objection as soon as possible!
