Question by Chelsea: survey for school project? over 18yrs?
Waste-to-Energy Survey

For my ninth grade project I am researching opinions about Waste-to-Energy conversion. This is the process of incinerating solid waste from land fills to create electrical energy. Waste-to-Energy can be very expensive but provides renewable energy and reduces landfill waste. Although it reduces landfill waste it can emit some air pollution and also eliminates some incentives for recycling.

1. How old are you?

___29 and under ___30-50 ___51-65 ___66 and over

2. How much schooling have you completed?

___High School Degree ___College Degree ___Graduate Degree

3. When Waste-to-Energy facilities operate, they emit a small amount of pollutants. To what extent do you believe Waste-to-Energy leads to air pollution?

___Great Extent ___Large Extent ___Little Extent ___No Extent

4. To what extent do you believe landfills pose harmful effects on our environment?

___Great Extent ___Large Extent ___Little Extent ____No Extent

5. To what extent would you be willing to have tax money spent on facilities that reduce the trash in landfills to create energy?

___Great Extent ___Large Extent ___Little Extent ___No Extent

6. Do you believe that Zero-Waste (recycling all objects to there original form to eliminate waste) is a better solution than trying to get rid of waste with Waste-to-Energy Plants?

___Yes ___No

7. In your opinion, is Waste-to-Energy a reasonable strategy to address the world’s overcrowding landfills and growing energy needs?

___Yes ___No

8. Burying garbage is easier and less expensive than Waste-to-Energy. Do you believe that we should continue using landfills to dispose of garbage, or slowly transition to using Waste-to-Energy facilities?

___Landfills ___Waste-to-Energy

9. Would you consider paying a higher price for energy from a company that uses the process of Waste-to-Energy?

___Yes ___No

I’m English therefore none of this applies to me. We throw all our crap into landfills or we have some swine’s of inequity that think it a good idea do dump their crap so the council can come and remove it. Genius!
