Question by island_grrl: Sanitation workers gift ideas?
Does anyone give gifts to their garbage/recycle/yard waste picker uppers? If so, how do you get the gifts to them, how do you know how many people to buy gifts for, and what do you get them? I usually get something for my postal carrier but realized recently that the sanitation workers need some appreciation too! What would we do if no one picked up our trash?!

A six pack of beer with a red bow on top is usually appreciated (and not lost with the garbage)

i give them a case of beer every year.
Leave it out with the trash in a wrapped box and a card if you can’t get up to see them going down your street. leave cookies or something similar.
CASH in their HAND. They really don’t want gifts. Also… any time of the year, especially summer… give them a cold gatorade, they’re very appreciative.
