Waste and Recycling?

Question by khushi: Waste and Recycling?
tell about waste and recycling in our environment

Best answer:

Answer by Toni M
Well here in Alabama, we are not required to recycle. When I lived in NY, we had to pay a deposit on bottle drinks, etc. and to get the money back, we had to recycle the item. I wish Alabama required that. Especially after Mardi Gras here there is trash, cans, bottles, etc. filling the street up. Sad.

There is more waste than recycling. Recycling is a small fee added to our garbage pickup. The little bins the give people for recycling aren’t big enough for a weeks worth of recyclable garbage.

I just saw a report on the news last night about a country (can’t remember which one now) where they are shredding up all the plastic and mixing it with the morter for making concrete building blocks. They said that, while these blocks can’t be used for load-bearing walls, they are great for interior non-load bearing walls.
I think this is a great example of recycling and I think it should be used in more places.

recycling generally saves on most of the resources used to produce a product. for instance aluminium requires large amounts of electricity to mine but less to melt down and reuse.

recycling different materials can save water and emissions
