Question by Raleigh H: How much money do you make for recycling aluminum cans in Alaska?
A few friends of mine were considering recycling cans to make a few extra bucks (we’re going to regardless) and we wondered how much is paid out for aluminum in the the Anchorage, AK area. We searched the web for a while and couldn’t get any answers. Any help wold be greatly appreciated!

In the UK you can simply get in touch with local scrap metal merchants and ask what price they are giving per ton of any metal you want to sell. The price offered may vary slightly from dealer to dealer, so look for the best price. Prices are linked to the world market , so can go up and down on a daily basis. This should be the same for where you live.
What do you think? Answer below!
At the military base in Anchorage, AK, right off base you get 41 cents a lbs today.

I would like to add a little more to the other answers. If you have aluminum soda pop cans, you can consider that there are about 25 cans to make up a pound. Now in our area…Illinois..prices were about 60 cents a pound. Right now they are around 30 cents a pound. I would suggest you have a place to keep them , as in our area prices go up in the winter time. You could ask the people who you are selling to if the prices do go up at certain times of the year..
