Packard Jennings – The Pocket Survival Guide
Participants are invited to meet at SoEx for a 20-minute workshop to fold instructional pamphlets on how to devise an emergency raft out of recycled product packaging in case of a catastrophic flood- a consequence of consumer waste and mass production that contributes to pollution, and global warming.
Once the Pocket Survival Guides are folded, participants will enter various stores and install them on consumer products to replicate “instant savings coupons.” Future customers will be happy to find their household purchases subverted by public art!
Pocket Survival Guide is also in NYC through Dec 19th, 2009

Recycling our waste is now part and parcel of our everyday household chores. Some of us are fortunate that our local authorities provide separate bins for different types of waste for our weekly or fortnightly collections.
However, around the home it often surprise me to see people using all sorts of receptacles as their recycling bin. Not wanting to confuse their recycling waste with regular household rubbish that goes in the regular litter bin, some people are using all manner of objects from cardboard boxes to old buckets.
Yet, like them it or not, recycling is going to be part of our lives for the foreseeable future and there is no need to have a tatty box or old bucket making your otherwise designer kitchen or living room untidy.
There are a fantastic range of recycling bins out their and many of them have some fantastic designer qualities. There are some great looking aluminium recycling bins that will fit perfectly in any modern home looking as contemporary and fashionable as many modern appliances.
But there are others made from chrome and some great looking designs that are practical and functional. Metallic twin and triple recycling bins are both a practical solution for keeping different types of waste separate but also they provide an elegant designer style that will suit any kitchen area.
And if you are into retro styling have a look out for the enamel recycling bins which really do look something. These look fantastic and would suit anybody who harks back to styles and fashions of years gone by.

Skip the Recycle Bin
The recycle bin in Windows is a handy way to keep deleted files just in case they ever need to be brought back. That’s why it’s called the “recycle bin” as opposed to, say, the File Disintegrator. However, you may wish to bypass the recycle bin when deleting a file or, if you’re really brave, turn off delete confirmation too. (01:35)

The Bamboo Wardrobe – Eco Clothing for any Occasion
When you mention bamboo most people think of the long cane-like grass much favoured by gardeners and pandas. So when you talk about a bamboo wardrobe people may assume you are talking about the closet itself and not its contents.
