Creating our own compost saves money and does our bit for the environment and this book was very helpful with what we can and can’t put in and simple safety tips. It was nice to dip into the sections explaining how it all works and there is enough in there too for those more interested in the science too. Perfect gift for anyone with a garden, especially those that have investing in a composting bin already.

Thank you, Ms. Savarese! There is so much STUFF in New York City and most of it still has a lot of use left by the time its original owner is done with it. Yet, figuring out how to give it new life is often such a hassle that New Yorkers either throw it away or put it out on the stoop. There are so many nonprofits that can benefit from thoughtful, useful donated goods. This guide shows just how to do that. As a nonprofit staff member, I greatly appreciate your direction to those who desire to be generous – countless people will benefit as a result.

This is a comprehensive and extremely easy to use guide for people looking to donate/recycle/get rid of ALL kinds of household goods.
From children’s art supplies and yarn to washing machines and refrigerators, this guide lists all kinds of items that people may wish to give away and connects them to organizations interested in those items. It also provides contact information on the organizations as well as information on getting tax deductions and many other useful ideas. It is an excellent resource, definitely worth having at home – something my family and I will refer to again and again.

This terrific, comprehensive and well edited guide shows you how someone, somewhere not only can use, but wants whatever – and I mean whatever – you have that either you no longer want/use/need or in some cases, works. Rather than pitch it out, this guide will allow you to connect the item to the recipient, and adds helpful information about pick up, etc. While admittedly a localized resource, it should serve as the model for every community that wants to give back by giving away.
